Thank you for your offerings! Energy healings are my jam! Once I get back on my feet, I’ll be calling. I try to do them myself, but with a trusted and experienced guide- much stronger.
Hello, Barbara! Thank you so much for this post. I had just been on zoom to a contemplative prayer meeting which mostly takes place in silence. It was beautiful, and then I listened to your post, which brought me to an even quieter place of total peace and relaxation. Now I feel kind of like "gumby" if you know what I mean.
Oh, before I forget, the prayer meeting was ended with a reading of one of John O'Donohue's poems and I thought of you immeditately. Here it is:
“For Longing"
For Longing: A Poem by John O’Donohue
blessed be the longing that brought you here and quickens your soul with wonder. may you have the courage to listen to the voice of desire that disturbs you when you have settled for something safe. may you have the wisdom to enter generously into your own unease to discover the new direction your longing wants you to take. may the forms of your belonging – in love, creativity, and friendship – be equal to the grandeur and the call of your soul. may the one you long for long for you. may your dreams gradually reveal the destination of your desire. may a secret providence guide your thought and nurture your feeling. may your mind inhabit your life with the sureness with which your body inhabits the world. may your heart never be haunted by ghost-structures of old damage. may you come to accept your longing as divine urgency. may you know the urgency with which God longs for you. may your mind inhabit your life with the sureness with which your body inhabits the world. by John O’Donohue
Hi Ronnie! Oh my, first of all, the silence of a contemplative prayer gathering sounds lovely, and you probably know how much I love John O'D! Thank you for sharing that poem. I copied and pasted it. Have you ever read "Anam Cara?" It's one of my favorites.
Thanks for reading, Ronnie, and taking the time to comment. I'm glad the listen/read was also contemplative and not fear-inducing! XOXO
Oh! Heavens, NO! You could never write something that was fear-inducing.
And yes! I do know how much you love John O'D which is why I sent you the quote. I have read Anam Cara, and loved it. No one can speak that deeply about "soul friendship" like he can. He goes right to the heart of it.
Unbending intent - a very focused intention (in energy healing, it would be while focusing on helping the person you're working with to heal.) Always done with the person's permission, of course. The same could be said of prayer, I imagine. It's also used during self-practices to clear negative energy, especially that which comes from another person or place. Does that make sense? XO
Yes! that makes perfect sense, especially the part where you compare it to prayer, and clearing negative energy. Back in the day, when I went to a charismatic prayer group, I became aware of a center where you could make an app't to visit a spiritual director who would pray with you privately by laying on hands. It achieved the same healing effect as you explain here. This is so interesting, isn't it?
There you are! I love that you swept the leaves off. Your sessions are amazing! Having enjoyed the wisdom offered through your Ayurveda consults and energy healing sessions/shamanic journeys, I can attest to the efficacy of both distance work and the work you do. I love that you’re offering sessions. The world is swirling and so many of us are looking for healing and grounding modalities to make it through these times. Love you!
I love your posts. I just realized that all this bouncing around and not being grounded in my dwelling has to do with not having the right dwelling space! I just realized, too, while listening to your lovely story (I rescue and free bugs of all kinds, too! And I am calm when I do it, and talk to them, and they become calm, also), that I am NOT being beaten up, but I am trying to find my long-term NEST, and I haven't found it yet, so it feels like I'm just bouncing around, unhappily. That is only a perspective, I'm seeing now. I have to keep looking until I find that Good Spot.
So...
I bought a lottery ticket today. LOLOLOLOL Well, wouldn't it be great? And I sooo want some of that forest oil, even if I have to wait for the next season's batch... I just can't do it right now. But perhaps sometime soon!
Thank you, dearest you, please keep doing these posts, and donut stop!! Woof! xo xo xo
I look forward to seeing the Nest you will manifest, Jaan! You will look back one day and be amazed at all that you have endured and created at the same time. XO
Thank you, Lovely. I have that sense, as well, the whisper that this isn’t the place a want, really and to roll (over? ha ha) with it… It’s just been SO MUCH WORK, physically, getting moved IN here. Wore me down to a bone of my former self, lol. I so appreciate your good words, dear You. xo xo
Indeed it is! And I’ve been doing a lot of it, mostly all by myself. Well, I’m glad that I’m ABLE. But I am looking forward to having my own place again, I have done for most of my adult life, and I prefer it, big time! So…incentive is there… I need to find out (going to ask a gal who knows a TON about this kind of thing, and helped me before… Plus, I need coffee, lol) if I can get subsidized senior housing and still be in just a regular rental situation… I don’t want to live in “senior housing,” unless there’s other people, too, like KIDS, and younger folks…
Yes that knowledge - available to everyone - if you can be still long enough to receive it.
So remarkably true. The invisible is always waiting for us to slow down and acknowledge it.
That rock definitely looks like a meditative turtle! I want to sit on him. (Of course!)
And I'm all in on the self-healing ability we were gifted with - which sometimes needs a nudge.
"Part of living a more shamanic life is learning to have deference and reverence for all our fellow inhabitants, both plants and animals, on this precious planet, because they have their purpose just as we do."
Well, said. (I'll try to remember when the insects are in the house, or the ground hog has eaten another one of the veggies in my little garden. :-))
You're running a tad ahead of most us, 'Little Crone" (cracked me up) so thank you for sharing what you know, your love-induced potions and now these shamanic healings. 🙏
Thank you, dear Kathleen, I know that you know, and I love knowing you because of that.
Regarding the insects...Oh, how I hear you. I've never dreaded spring and summer until I moved here. The Amazon has nothing on us. I actually did a journey to the Lower World and met with the spirit of Tick. I did. Lol. He told me that he's ancient and formidable and that I need better boundaries. I'm still mulling that over. Every time I look at the site where I had a bite, I shall ponder that.
And LOL, Little Crone. I can't believe I shared that...
Thanks for always being so generous by reading, commenting, and sharing, Kathleen. You are so appreciated. XOXO
The spirit of Tick! Now THERE's a concept I've never considered. (Though I was in a pet store recently with my daughter Maddie where they were selling stuffed animals in the shape of TICKS. The woman at the counter was enthusiastic; Maddie and I less so. As I said to the clerk: it's hard, as a Lyme survivor, to get excited about snuggling up with a tick... But then I suppose that's where the boundary part comes in!)
I second everything Kathleen said so beautifully. This resonates for me, too: “Come out of your shell, Little Crone. Share what you know to be true.” I'm glad you're heeding the turtle's wisdom! xox
Ok, I'm with you and Maddie regarding the stuffed animal. :( 😳 I'm hoping my journey results in a force field around me to keep them out. I already have a bite reminder this year in the crook of my arm. UGH. It's crazy how long they take to heal.
Thank you, Mary, and LOL I still can't believe I shared the Little Crone thing. I've been laughing about it all day. XOXO
Thank you for your offerings! Energy healings are my jam! Once I get back on my feet, I’ll be calling. I try to do them myself, but with a trusted and experienced guide- much stronger.
I'm not surprised that your lovely energy field engages in healings both on your own and with a guide! You are such a Light, Tonika!
Thx for reading and always taking the time to leave a comment! XOXOXO

It's a pleasure to read your work, Barbara. xoxo
PS: I forgot to ask, can you explain 'unbended intent'. I can look it up but I'd rather hear you share your understanding. Thx.

Yes! Same thing… in person it’s laying on of hands and distance healing is every bit as effective. 🩷
