Dear Readers,
Meet Turtle Rock. Actually, I’ve just renamed him Sleeping Turtle Rock. I’m always struck by how sleepy or meditative he appears.
I had a good laugh when I visited the other day and saw him covered in leaves. I’ll explain that in a few.
In my last post (also Turtle-themed), I mentioned that I’ve begun offering healing sessions again. But it was a very long post, and I didn’t get around to mentioning my offerings until the end.
My friend said that I was like a Turtle, hiding under leaves. Meaning, I guess, that I hid my offerings in a too-lengthy post. I thought to myself, “sort of like hiding in the restroom during an art opening.” Some things never change. :)
I leaned on Sleeping Turtle Rock and immediately felt that relaxed, grounding feeling seep into me that I always get when I visit my rock friends.
They are so steady.
Alive and yet the epitome of calm.
They feel like sentinels of the Earth to me.
Because they are.
Ancient and worldly.
Ready to share their wisdom if we can be still enough and listen deeply.
This kind of knowledge is invisible but available to everyone.
It’s not the “scientifically proven” kind of knowledge that our world seems to revere most.
Our ancestors of old knew the value of this invisible knowledge. You need only have an open mind and an open heart to access it.
The message I got from Sleeping Turtle Rock came in loud and clear.
“Come out of your shell, Little Crone. Share what you know to be true.”
“Little Crone?” I am laughing as I'm typing this. Honestly, you can’t make these messages up.
So, before I bury my offerings in the leaves again, here they are with a bit more information.
Ayurveda (and More) Session: Together, we will work to identify any imbalances from an Ayurvedic perspective, based on your constitution and current state of health. I teach very basic and digestible Ayurvedic wisdom, as well as other modalities that I have personally benefited from to help shift health issues, not just from a physical body perspective, but also from an energetic one.
Distance Energy Healing and Shamanic Journeying: In this session, we will begin by connecting for a brief conversation. Then, it is your choice whether, with your permission, I journey on your behalf, followed by a distance energy healing session. Or, I will drum for you and guide you on your own journey, after which I will conduct the distance energy healing session. While I am conducting the healing session, we will be disconnected from the phone. If you choose to journey on your own (while I drum for you), we will disconnect from the phone after the journey so that I can conduct the healing session.
Phone/FaceTime: $111.00/one hour for either type of session.
When I do distance healing, I check the state of the chakras and rebalance them. I'll use sound, color, energy, and whatever else might be appropriate to help bring them into balance. Each session is uniquely different.
Distance healing is just as effective as in-person treatment. This is a concept that most people cannot fathom (myself included, initially). My teacher would say over and over again, “Use your unbending intent.”
Once again, we have to trust the invisible.
This is especially true of the shamanic journey.
One of the things that sets shamanism apart from other forms of spiritual practice is the shamanic journey. Think of a journey as a kind of active meditation, a means of traveling deep within to garner the counseling, insights and perspectives of a world without judgment or negativity. Typically, journeys are accompanied by a drum or rattle, said to represent the heartbeat of mother earth–which shifts the brain waves from alpha to theta and produces a mild trance state. —Jane Burns
Reminder! It is you who inevitably does the healing work. I am just a guide helping you along. There is nothing I can do to heal you - you must be willing to change what needs to be changed in your life for healing to occur.
Truth be told, I have given so much more energy to being the student than to being the teacher or guide.
I’m at a crossroads where this seems a bit selfish, and Turtle keeps driving that home to me.
The other day, I was ready to sit down and eat breakfast when I glanced out the window. The sun, which had been MIA for days, was blazing hot and beaming down on a grey object on my driveway.
I couldn’t make it out, so I grabbed my binoculars. And lo and behold, it was Turtle!
It’s Turtle egg-laying season here in New Hampshire, and we have to be extra vigilant not to drive over them on our driveways or the road. I figured this was a mama looking for a good spot to lay her eggs, and it was so hot, I brought her a handful of greens and some water.
When I came back outside a bit later to run some errands, she had moved on. I carefully drove down the driveway and onto the road, and was on my way.
Hours later in the day, I made a quick run to the post office, and when I returned, right in the middle of the road in front of my driveway was Turtle! I have to believe this was the same Turtle and that she was making her way back across the road to the wildlife sanctuary and the water. Leaving her eggs behind, hopefully to survive the many predators.
I got out of my car and gently helped her cross, grateful that I’d come along when I did.
The Spirit of Turtle gives me wise counsel, and in return, I try to always show kindness to those I encounter in the physical world.
Part of living a more shamanic life is learning to have deference and reverence for all our fellow inhabitants, both plants and animals, on this precious planet, because they have their purpose just as we do.
It’s a process that I’m forever striving to be better at. I will escort a house fly or spider outside, give Chip peanuts and Turtle some lettuce, but biting flies and ticks are not treated with that level of kindness by me. And, I’ll admit, I’m happy the aggressive red squirrels seem to have moved on. I’m not quite Snow White or Cinderella-level, but I keep trying my best.
Of course, all of those not-so-lovable animals (and plants) have lessons to teach us, as well.
And last, but not least, I want to share a little healing story from today.
I was watering my houseplants and went to hang one back up, and freakishly, I twisted my arm and pulled a muscle or something else. I tried to lift it, and it was excruciatingly painful.
I sat down on the sofa and did a little energy healing, and then heard The Voice remind me about Solomon’s Seal. I have had great luck with this plant for back pain in the past.
I realized I still had a tincture and a salve from Cortesia, and so I took a dropperful of the tincture and rubbed the salve on my arm. I sat back down on the sofa, closed my eyes, and breathed healing energy into my arm. I'm not kidding, within maybe ten minutes, it had full mobility.
Was it the energy healing? Was it the plants in the tincture and the balm? Both working synergistically? Whatever it was, I have never had such a quick resolution to pain.
There were other plants involved in this speedy recovery, such as Comfrey, St. John’s Wort, Mullein, Arnica, among others. Plants Heal! And…
We ALL have this ability to self-heal!
Of course, there are exceptions when we need more assistance. However, I treasure having the belief, the knowledge, and the unbending intent to heal myself with the assistance of plants and any invisible helpers who might be there for me.
If I can assist you in any way, please don't hesitate to reach out to me at barbarasinclair11@protonmail.com.
And remember
We are healing and we are healed.
I forgot who said that (it might have even been me!), but it’s so true!
Much Love,
Barbara

Wonderful, Barbara.
Yes that knowledge - available to everyone - if you can be still long enough to receive it.
So remarkably true. The invisible is always waiting for us to slow down and acknowledge it.
That rock definitely looks like a meditative turtle! I want to sit on him. (Of course!)
And I'm all in on the self-healing ability we were gifted with - which sometimes needs a nudge.
"Part of living a more shamanic life is learning to have deference and reverence for all our fellow inhabitants, both plants and animals, on this precious planet, because they have their purpose just as we do."
Well, said. (I'll try to remember when the insects are in the house, or the ground hog has eaten another one of the veggies in my little garden. :-))
You're running a tad ahead of most us, 'Little Crone" (cracked me up) so thank you for sharing what you know, your love-induced potions and now these shamanic healings. 🙏
Hugs to you.🧚
Thank you for your offerings! Energy healings are my jam! Once I get back on my feet, I’ll be calling. I try to do them myself, but with a trusted and experienced guide- much stronger.
