Hello Barbara , I feel very blessed to have found you here . In 2014 I learned as much as I could about Ayurveda because I had zero bowel movement or sound . After six weeks of eating a Ayurvedic vegan diet I had some agne and could use my arms to drive my car . Your voice is wonderful too . I fell good that I could follow and understand . Peace be to you 💕

That's amazing, Eleanor! Thank you for being here! I could talk/write about Ayurveda until the cows come home! xoxo

Hi Barbara, thanks so much for educating me! I'm not sure how but I had no knowledge of this topic before. It does make good sense though. I hope to incorporate some of these tips into my daily routine. Will be hard to give up leftovers!! x

You're so welcome! I didn't know anything about it until I did. :) The leftovers thing was hard for me too! But, it makes sense. So, I try really hard to pare down when I'm cooking (it's hard for one person but I'm getting good at it.) If I make something like soup, I'll make enough for lunch and dinner. Baby steps. Start by eating your leftovers within 24 hours. The longer they sit, the less healthy they are for you. Good luck and have fun with it. Don't be too rigid. xo

Thanks for taking the time to reply Barbara. I'm having a wee look at WOB( world of books) and plan to order a Ayurveda cook book to put me on the right track. So much choice! x

A really basic Ayurveda book (written by a westerner) is "In Your Elements" by Monica Bloom. It's not a cookbook although there are a couple of really basic recipes. Her website is a good place to start: https://www.heymonicab.com/. Banyan Botanicals also has lots of information on their site. xo

Order placed! Thanks Barbara. Saves me ordering a heap of random books. x

Ha! Oh, boy...I know how that goes. I think you'll like it - it's as basic as it comes and a good place to start.xo

You know it intuitively, Dave. :) So much of it is common sense and paying attention to your body. It has helped me tremendously. Thx for reading!

Thank you for this Barbara. I've been aware of Ayurveda for some twenty years now. I think I had a good start in that respect "you are what you eat" from my mum and close attention to the benefits of natural and herbs based medicines.

Bless her soul, she must had been somewhat "natural" to that being orphaned at twelve during WW2 in Poland. I'm forever trying to understand how come she was so clever and mentally strong with not much formal education. I'm following Ayurveda in general, with some changes to afford for my Slavic origins.

Hi Marta! Better late than never...I don't know how I missed your comment. How wonderful that you had a role model in your mom and that she came to her knowledge in such harsh circumstances!

There was no one in my family (they still think I'm nuts!) to guide me. I didn't know any of my grandparents and sometimes wonder if they held some holistic knowledge. My mother was Polish and I miss some of the Polish meals we used to have.

Ayurveda is amazing, isn't it? Thanks for your comment and apologies for this late response!

Great intro to Ayurveda, thanks. Because of daylight savings and factors such as longitude and seasons, I try to track when the sun is almost at its highest point to mark my lunchtime. The liver creates and the bile duct stores up bile overnight since its last meal the previous dinner, so lunches should be heavier than dinners, since the interval is greater. Keeping with the harmony/synchronization with the sun/day cycle, dinner/last meal should be digested before the sunset, if we think that the fire from the sun is synchronized with your fire, and thus we should wake up with the sunrise.

What we eat needs to contain prana as much as possible, and we see wilting apples or rotting pumpkins as signs of the chi leaving, and of course boxed foods are almost devoid of that force, so it can't be incorporated into your chi. It's very strange to me how most gurus, health and spiritual people, herbalists are so overweight. The cultural programming is too strong, I guess. But the more you're in harmony with nature, the more separated you are from trappings like sugar and flour and see the absurdity.

Water should be from a clean well or spring, with fresh oxygen, not stored for months in plastic (all spring water at Walmart, Target, etc are in plastic, not that you should go there). I think structured gel water trapped in grapefruit, coconuts, etc. are the best, but you can't rebalance your pH, etc., that way.

Yes! All good tips. I remember when I studied Ayurveda mourning the loss of eating leftovers. I just can't anymore. All I see is dead food. I am blessed to have both a well and a spring just down the road! I left the city in November of 2020 and live in the country now. I can step outside and be with the rising sun. What a blessing Thanks for your comment!

yes, I forgot to mention leftovers- I also used to make bigger portions of food to eat later for the convenience, but now I do what you do. Everything is a tradeoff. I moved out to the country last year also and have well water that tests well on my TDS meters and know some spring sources. The air from the forest is amazing! But I don't see the rising sun much b/c it's blocked by 'clouds' too often. Thanks!

'clouds' indeed. I was dismayed when I moved here (New Hampshire) to see all of the chemtrail activity. I'm obsessed with it - not in a good way. Evidently, people in my small town are referring to me as "chemtrail lady" because I wrote about it on our local town Googe Group. They think I'm nuts. But, yes! The forest air is AMAZING! What a gift, having come from a polluted city. Thx for your comment! :)

well if you don't already know Jim Lee, he's the most knowledgeable on weather modification: https://youtu.be/OSUoMuzLTpY , and Elana Freeland is good. There's a lot of chelators in nature to help out, cilantro, zeolite clinoptilite, shilajit, onions, etc., and I knew in my heart I chose the right place when I couldn't get a cell signal, but they're slowly building and building- the fiber optic lines, the neighborhoods 10 miles away, etc! btw, when there's new development, you see more roadkill b/c of all the displaced animals searching for new homes- so sad. Yep, there were streaks all across the sky when I was walking with my neighbor and after pointing those out, she hasn't talked to me since! Always tradeoffs!

Yes, I know of him. Thx for the video. Everyone in town here is thrilled because fiber optics has arrived in our sleepy little town. I'm sure you've read "The Invisible Rainbow." Your chelation list is my chelation list! :) I refuse to hide out in my home and I ry to keep my vibe high because it's so easy to just give up. Haha about the neighbor. Her loss. Maybe it got her thinking...you never know!

I read the free Kindle sample- very thorough, and see the gifs and charts of the history/correlations all the time, but I'm always wary of someone's historical accounts of what Michael Faraday, etc. did or estimates of millions dying, etc. I try to go with what I experience personally, e.g., the EMF meter I used to have (got stolen) would never went go higher than 6 ghz around the towers I would test. But that was a couple of years ago, and they can, have, and will use this technology to their liking.

This was a wonderful much needed reminder for me Barbara. Thank you! ( Now I remember why I began some of my AM habits....they were Ayurvedic based and I had just forgotten, yet habituated them. The lemon/ginger water drinking and continuing throughout the day, in particular). Thanks for all of this. I could use some "tweaking"👍🤗.

Thank You Barbara for sharing about Ayurveda, actually I had a book out eat taste heal Ayurveda cooking just wanted ideas, very challenging cookbook🤷‍♀️ Meaning a lot to shop for each meal. I first heard of Ayurveda from DK then you talked about it in a relatable way, I’m Vata Pita and of course I love spicy food or I used to for years my skin was reacting finally after years I got it! If I would have read your blog today I wouldn’t have suffered those difficulties with my skin, doctors call it psoriasis still not buying that! Thank you for sharing EZ steps for Ayurveda. Clear and to the point❤️❤️Love and light Sheila
