I enjoyed listening. Though it did make me a little emotional. Thanks for sharing. I'm lucky where I stay in the Highlands of Scotland ,we have lots of wildlife...But not sure what I'd do if I came face to face with a wolf!
Thank you, Kirsty! And if you read my first post "You're Like the Quaking Poplar" you'll understand just how much I love Scotland. I considered moving there. If I ever get on a plane again, it will be to Scotland (and Ireland!) I left a piece of my heart in both countries.
I live in bear country now and while I've yet to come face-to-face with one, I've seen them from a distance, right here on this land. It's quite remarkable. Equal parts terror and awe. :) The wild animals have a way of hiding from us humans. Thx for listening!
Thank you so much for the recommendation Barbara. I also love trees and have been told I'm too sensitive! I take it as a compliment now but did see it as a weakness when I was younger. I'm looking forward to looking at some of your other posts. It was like I was meant to find you! Thanks for sharing.
This is just exquisite. I had forgotten how many times I journeyed to the underworld and had a wolf and an eagle with me. The 80's and 90's were so full of groups of women doing shamanic journeys, and we went into the underworld monthly. Now, especially in the last 3 years, getting together to journey like this feels huge and impossible. But you have reminded me I don't need a group to do this, I can go back there anytime. Thank you for this piece of magic at a time when the world is starving for magic. I look forward to more of your writing.
Thank you so much, Cat! When I posted it there was that little bit of "will people think I'm weird?" but it passed immediately. When I started this newsletter I wanted there to be magic. I love that you had a wolf and an eagle with you. I am sure they're waiting to welcome you again! Sometimes when I close my eyes at night I journey there, without drumming, hoping to meet up with my friends in my dreamtime. I appreciate your beautiful comment. 🐺🦅💚
Well said! So it is here. The coyotes and wolves howl nearly every night. The wildlife biologists say there are no more wolves here but I know better. Lately the owls have been calling-time for wisdom. My dream is to see a live Jaguar out here one day. Blessings to you!
I like to believe they're here, too. Mountain Lions have been spotted but the state claims they're not here. A Jaguar sighting would be something. Just last week an owl swooped down right past my kitchen window - I mean just a few feet from it and down in front of the window - and landed in the tree out front. These sightings are truly something to behold. Thanks for reading! :) 🐺
Excellent! We are so blessed to live in the woods. The wolves, coy-wolves, etc. are constantly in danger due to unethical practices. But it's humans like you who shine a light and acknowledge the connection of our four-legged brothers and sisters who will ensure their survival.
I love your wolf story and cannot WAIT for the turtle story. Thank you! xoxo
Dearest Barbara, this is beautiful, and quite meaningful! I chose to listen instead of read. It's a special treat to hear you speak of your experiences! There is always much wisdom, and love in what you share! My heart feels full hearing your story... Thank you! Best, Gigi
Thank you, Gigi!! What a beautiful comment. It makes me laugh now that I was so scared of reading the posts out loud. How silly we are when we criticize ourselves. Lesson learned. Glad you enjoyed listening. Much Love, Barbara
Beautiful, and filled me with warmth and happiness.
Interesting, while I love ALL doggies and and wolves, too... my special kind of dog seems to be Husky Dog. Have you ever seen Mishka and her little sister? This is my favorite of their videos... Mishka has gone over the Rainbow Bridge, but not her sister... Anyway, I sooooo enjoyed this post, thank you!!! xo
Thank you for another beautiful post.
Thank you for reading, C.J.! xoxo
Beautiful❤️ Thank you Barbara🐶
Glad you enjoyed it, Sheila! xoxo B
I will do Barbara. Hope you feel inclined to visit again one day. x

And if you see me telling someone NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, Leave me, you'll know what that's from, LOL.
PS
This video was a big thing for some friends of mine and me, and I STILL smile to myself and say "I'm very, very tired," in Mishka Talk... Ha. ^_^
