A lovely inspirational read as always! When I worked full time as a teacher, I made it a regular thing to be up at 5am to have some 'me' time, either meditating or doing yoga. You have reminded me how special that time was and I feel compelled to try it again, even though the only 'alarm clock' now are the dogs waiting for a pee or the horse and donkey anticipating breakfast. I love your views too, so magical.
Hi Ingrid! I'm trying to follow my own suggestions. :) I don't have a horse or a donkey (how lucky are you!!) or even a dog anymore to rouse me. But with it getting dark by 4:30 it's not so hard to be in bed by 8:00. It's so much easier to fall asleep and rise earlier. I love it. Thanks for reading and leaving a comment!
Barbara, I missed this post when you published it but now I know why... I needed to read this TODAY. My sleep has been so disorganized of late. I'm going to attempt meditation during those times in the middle of the night when I'm flopping around getting more and more pissed off. π π
This is so lovely! Iβm always waking at 3 am, but I never get up. The times when Iβve gotten up with the sunrise, I love it so much. Thereβs something so magical about the light at sunrise. I love the Rumi poem. π
Glad you enjoyed it, Amanda! I love that poem, too. Maybe the next time you wake up at 3 am you'll pause a moment or two before returning to sleep. :) xoxo
THE COZIEST!!!!! UGH!!! This post is dreamy as dreams come!! The absolute best!!!! My only wish was that I could have shared this with my Mom. π€ she wasn't a big fan like we are of the early dark... BUT she loved the dark mornings. Before the rest of the world is awake. My favorite!! I had been sleeping very eradicate hours due to pain, depression and grief. Then of course surgery... then I sustained an injury and then a very very bad cold. While I am still not in the clear, I have started to rise early again... I can feel it healing me !!!! I love it!!!! And I love you, so much β€ sweetest dreams
I thought about you while writing about the dark, my friend. :) Not many people love it like we do. Happy Happy Healing, Jamie. I love you back! πππ

Thanks for this lovely reminder.
Oh, I'm glad it found its way to you, Mary! It really has worked for me...most of the time. :) xoxo
Now I will try to think of the darkness (early!) as a comforting blanket. The photos are gorgeous!
Thank you, Bonnie! It's all perspective, right?? xoxo

Loved this...tons of food for thought, as always. Thank you Barbara!

Thanks for reading, J.R. I'm still fascinated by Ayurveda (as you can tell!) xo
