Some Words From Mr. Wise
And me...

Dear Readers,
I have a little something out of the ordinary for you. A video that I shot, mistakes and all, yesterday morning in the woods. So, if you’re listening to this audio recording, pause it and play the video, and then come back to me.
Every year since I’ve been on Substack, I’ve shared this post that I wrote:
This year, I have been working hard to harness the creative energy that Vata Season brings. I’ve been making the 83 Steps to the Little Barn at least once a day. I believe creativity is Vata’s greatest gift. Unfortunately, it’s often overshadowed by the hustle and bustle and anxiety of the holidays.
I’m retreating even more than usual, and my nervous system (ruled by Vata!) is overjoyed. As much as I love giving gifts throughout the year to special people in my life, I have all but eliminated them during the holidays.
That said, I realize many of you may still be gift-giving, so I’m sharing the links to my Forest Oil and Elderberry Syrup in case you have a special someone who loves the scent of the forest or herbal remedies.
20% off until December 1st!
The Forest Oil has only two ingredients: Needles from White Pine, Hemlock, and Balsam Fir trees, infused in organic Jojoba oil. Jojoba oil has a longer shelf life than many oils and, in and of itself, is very healing.
This batch that I’m currently selling is very fragrant. And hence, it smells like the forest. :) I only have about twenty bottles (4oz), so grab one now before they’re gone. I have not yet started to infuse another batch, so it will be several weeks before one is ready.
This oil is for external use only. It is suitable for any skin condition and can be used as a face and body oil. Pine oil is very healing for the lungs, and you can rub it on your chest.
My favorite way to use it is to rub it in my palms and inhale the fragrance before meditation, or when I’m feeling anxious, or anytime at all!
20% off until December 1st!
Remember that, as a Paid Subscriber, all goods and services are always 20% off. So send me a DM here on Substack or email me at barbarasinclair11@protonmail.com, and I will send you a special link.
You can also pay by cash or by check, mailed to PO Box 111, North Sandwich, NH 03259. Just be sure to message me first so I can set a bottle aside for you!
I am also brewing Elderberry Syrup to order, so it’s not sitting on a shelf for weeks or months.
Elderberry Syrup is an age-old herbal remedy. Mine is Made With Love in small batches to order. All organic ingredients: Elderberries, Ginger, Cloves, Cinnamon, Rosehips, Star Anise, Raw Linden Honey, NH Spring Water.
Sales prices are valid until December 1st.
This is the only mini sales spiel you’ll be hearing from me. I know I myself would like to turn off my phone and my computer until the holidays are over to limit sales overload, temptation, and overspending.
If you are shopping, please don’t forget the small businesses—the artists and craftspeople, the bakers and wildcrafters — creatives, who imbue what they sell with their hearts and souls.
And remember what Mr. Wise told me:
“Just Be.”
Much Love,
Barbara
P.S. Unfortunately, I can only ship in the US. :(
Thank you for your heartfelt comments, your subscriptions (free or paid), or just for stopping by and reading or listening to The Quaking Poplar 🌳!

I've found a wonderful and healing beverage, by combining Nettle Tea (lots of Vit. C) and Mint Tea, just yum and probably has some healing quality, too, but I donut know what it is yet! I brew a pot full and drink it hot, and then tepid, and then cold... anytime, any temp, it's good.
Might be soothing to you around now-ish. xo xo
Thank you Barbara. I love listening to your soothing voice sharing with us your lovely perspective on whatever topic you're pondering at the moment. I happen to share your feelings about the holidays. I let go of all of it about 25 or 30 years ago. Best thing I ever did and my family is glad I did.
I just love that Mr. Wise. He doesn't even have to say a word to get his point across. LOL xox
